Mayor of London opens Exhibition Road

After years of meticulous planning and construction work along Exhibition Road, South Kensington, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson officially opened the new-look road on 1st February 2012, which features a kerb-free single surface with no barriers or street clutter.

Aworth Survey Consultants were appointed by architects Dixon Jones to undertake topographical and measured surveys of Exhibition Road, the Underground Pedestrian Tunnel and detailed drawings of the Victorian Lanterns. The £29m scheme has changed this once unwelcoming road into a world class streetscape, the largest project of the Mayor’s ‘London’s Great Outdoors’ programme.
