200 new council homes and new community hub to be built in Moulsecoomb, Brighton

March 24, 2023

We are delighted to share that planning has been agreed for a new community hub and more than 200 council homes at Moulsecoomb, Brighton on a number of underused sites.

The proposals also include a new centre for youth services within the hub, along with services and facilities that could be in the hub including a GP Surgery, Moulsecoomb Library, adult learning, and a community café.

The planning application for the proposed development is now live on the Brighton and Hove online planning register: BH2022/01063.

In early 2019, Aworth Survey Consultants undertook 2D and 3D topographical surveys for Brighton and Hove City Council, and in 2020 further survey areas, and finally existing building elevations for further 3D modelling in 2021. The final drawings consisting of over 15-hectares of urban topographical survey data.

Brighton and Hove City Council held a series of Planning for Real sessions, which used 3D modelling of the neighbourhood to give residents a hands-on way to have their say on the best way of providing what’s needed.

We are delighted to have worked with Brighton and Hove City Council, and the collaboration allowing us to provide comprehensive survey data of the site for the architectural and planning team in an efficient manner.
