Showtime | Foster Wilson Size unveils newly refurbished Polka Theatre for children

Our clients Foster Wilson Size have completed a major re-development of the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, which was the first UK theatre venue dedicated exclusively to children.

Aworth were appointed by Foster Wilson Size and the Polka Theatre to provide a wide range of surveying services including: a topographical survey; a full measured building survey; floor plans, elevations and sections; laser scanning; 360° imagery; and orthorectification point cloud images.

The ambitious major re-development led by Foster Wilson Size included the refurbishment of the theatre with an added extension to the rear of the building to provide a new rehearsal/performance space, whilst expanding the front of the building with new foyers, a café and a shop.

Polka’s renewal was possible through a wide range of funders, from businesses to the public, as well as National Lottery funding and London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP). The project also received support from the Cultural Capital Kickstart Fund.
