Global Surveyors’ Day

March 21, 2023

The 21st March is officially Global Surveyor’s Day, globally celebrating and promoting the work and contributions of surveyors both in the past and present, whilst also inspiring the next generation to pursue a career in the industry.

Aworth Survey Consultants are proud of the work and services we provide and the people who represent our company on a day-to-day basis, from our Land and Measured Building Surveyors, to our CAD and BIM technicians and office staff.

Perfectly described by RICS “Surveyors keep traffic flowing, water running and people moving. They shape our roads, bridges, tunnels, our skyscrapers, stations and stadiums. They work in mines and in fields, on cliffs and on beaches. They value the houses we live in and the places we work in. They create safer homes and happier communities”.

Being a surveyor is a rewarding and diverse career, mixing office-based work, using innovative technologies, and working alongside many architectural, planning and construction professionals on a wide range of projects that improve our built environment, from concept to delivery.

Our Managing Director, John Witherden, joined us in 1975 as a trainee, straight from school.

“I feel very privileged to have spent my whole career, more than 45 years to date, as a surveyor,” he says. “I started to think seriously about a career in land surveying when I was studying for my A Levels. It seemed to combine all the things I was interested in, offering me the chance to work outside, with technical equipment and in different places.”
