One Crown Place completes

August 19, 2021

One Crown Place, the landmark, designer-led London mixed-use development in Shoreditch, has now reached practical completion ahead of schedule.

Aworth Survey Consultants has been involved with the prestigious scheme from the pre-planning stage in 2006, and through to completion, have provided a wide range of surveying services in collaboration with the project team to provide the benefits of ‘One Team’ culture in construction.

We were commissioned by the project architects Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in 2006 to produce accurate topographical and measured building surveys, verified views and compiled Land Registry surveys for planning design and applications. Aworth further assisted KPF with independent verification of the complex Revit model gridlines at pre-construction stage.

In addition, we also produced BIM Revit models and HD Laser Scanning of the retained facades and provided the UAV drone survey control for Mace (the appointed consultant) to deliver the pre-construction services.

We then remained involved in the project at construction stage, through Development & Project Managers CBRE. This including setting-out precise grids for the building, and continued movement monitoring of the retained façades and the excavated basement retaining structures, until construction complete.

Andrew Pullinger, Project Manager at Aworth Survey Consultants, said: “One Crown Place from its conception has pushed the boundaries of technical surveying capabilities, adopting new digital tools, BIM software and cutting-edge survey equipment. We are incredibly proud to have played a part throughout this project and credit to the hard work our site surveyors and office team put in, to ensure our surveying services and expertise, delivered accurate survey data seamlessly.”
